Well, let’s just say right away that meditation is challenging at first. For many folks trying meditation, sitting still is difficult. There are so many sensations, feelings, irritability, agitation, especially coming from the mind. But given time, the mind actually starts to create space and it relaxes the nervous system. We create a pause button to observe the itches, the impulses. In that space, we can decide whether we need to scratch that itch, follow that impulse, or not. That’s the beauty of meditation. It’s to create space to discern where to go next, what to do, just by sitting still and connecting a little bit deeper to oneself.
