Greener Pastures: Learning To Appreciate The Here & Now
‘The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence’. This proverb is particularly relevant in active addiction where many find themselves in a never-ending and futile attempt to reach that ‘other side’ – only to find it more barren then where they began. Recovery gives us the opportunity to not just to break that cycle, but to really look at where we are and how far we’ve come; to feel good about what we have, instead of worrying about what we have not.
This week we’ll be focusing on, and discussing, our assets and accomplishments, celebrating the fact that while we may not have every little thing we’ve ever wanted, in recovery, we surely have what we need.
