Ramsey, NJ – Mountainside Treatment Center, with locations throughout the Northeast, will now extend its Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program to its Ramsey outpatient center. The program treats those struggling with alcohol and opioid use disorders through the use of addiction medications designed to curb cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms that can hinder long-term healing.

When combined with counseling and holistic wellness practices, Medication-Assisted Treatment can be transformative, and in some cases, life-saving. Last year, there were more than 90,000 deadly drug overdoses, a 30 percent spike compared to 2019. Now that the opioid crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic have converged, additional measures – such as MAT – are more widely needed than ever.

Mountainside Ramsey currently offers Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Services as well as Co-Occurring Treatment Services via both in-person and telehealth appointments. Under the guidance of Mountainside’s medical and psychiatry staff, MAT clients will be provided with wellness plans based on their individual needs. Addiction medications used in the MAT program include oral medications like Naltrexone (Revia®), Disulfiram (Antabuse®) and Acamprosate (Campral®), sublingual buprenorphine (Suboxone®), and extended-release injectable medications, such as Vivitrol® and Sublocade®.

Mountainside Ramsey is now offering medically-assisted addiction treatment.
