Huntington, NY – This February, Mountainside treatment center’s Huntington facility was awarded best Addiction Rehabilitation provider in the nation by Bethpage Best of Long Island. The contest, held annually for the last 15 years, recognizes exemplary performance in categories such as Health and Wellness, Arts and Entertainment, and Education. Mountainside, which opened its center in Huntington just last June, hopes this recognition will inspire more Long Islanders struggling with alcoholism or substance abuse to seek lifesaving care.
Mountainside Huntington provides compassionate addiction treatment services to those who are unable to take time away from their work or family commitments to attend residential treatment. The facility offers three levels of programming – Intensive Outpatient, Recovery Maintenance, and Individual Therapy – to suit clients’ individual needs.

Mountainside, with centers across Connecticut and New York, opened its Huntington outpatient center to combat the opioid crisis devastating Long Island. According to the New York State Department of Health’s preliminary 2019 data, opioids claimed the lives of 323 Suffolk County residents in 2018. The county’s opioid overdose death rate (21.6 percent per 100,000 population) greatly exceeded that of New York State (16.6 percent per 100,000 population, excluding New York City).
