Canaan, CT – Twenty years ago, Mountainside was founded with a mission to raise the standard in comprehensive addiction treatment and provide an unsurpassed treatment experience for clients. Today, Mountainside is a leading rehabilitation center — one of nine treatment centers across the nation to have achieved dual accreditation.

The rehabilitation center has been formally recognized by two leading accrediting bodies, The Joint Commission and CARF International, for the exemplary services it provides to clients struggling with addiction. How do these results set Mountainside apart? Organizations that have been accredited are valued and trusted for delivering on their promises to consumers. Accreditation shows that businesses are willing to go the distance and enhance their services year after year. The dual accreditation is a testament to the high bar Mountainside has set in terms of its quality treatment offerings and the commitment and compassion of its staff.

“Mountainside is thrilled to receive accreditation from two of the most prominent accrediting bodies in the healthcare industry,” said Stephen Langley, Mountainside’s Executive Vice President of Clinical & Cultural Stewardship. “Dual accreditation shows how impactful our programming is. Our clients can carry what they learn at Mountainside with them for the rest of their lives.”

Mountainside was honored with a three-year accreditation from CARF after a team of surveyors visited the center and deemed its treatment programs and wellness offerings highly effective. Mountainside later received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval after exceeding over 1,100 standards across multiple areas, including safety, leadership, clinical treatment offerings, and overall level of care. These positive outcomes substantiate the rehab center’s pledge to raise the standard in comprehensive addiction treatment.

The Joint Commission has remained committed to evaluating health care organizations for their efficiency, safety, and value to the public since 1951. A highly respected nonprofit organization, The Joint Commission is America’s oldest and most expansive accrediting body in health care. It has highlighted the success of multiple components of Mountainside’s programming, including Detoxification, Medication Assisted Treatment, Residential, and Outpatient Services.

CARF International is an independent nonprofit organization centered on health and human services. Since 1966, it has reviewed businesses on an ongoing basis, ensuring that organizations prove their unfaltering dedication to providing quality offerings, remaining open to feedback, and anticipating the needs of their communities. CARF has accredited several of Mountainside’s programs, including Detox, Intensive Outpatient, Residential,

Over the years, Mountainside has been an innovator in tailoring results-oriented treatment plans to individuals to improve their chances of recovering from addiction. The positive feedback Mountainside has received from two premier accrediting bodies demonstrates its value to the mental health community and its overall commitment to excellence.
