Ramsey, NJ – Mountainside Ramsey, a substance abuse treatment facility in Bergen County, was recently honored with a three-year accreditation from CARF International, signifying exemplary service to individuals and families coping with substance use disorders. The outpatient treatment center, which opened just this year at 500 N Franklin Turnpike, has been recognized for its holistic and clinical care, consistent with Mountainside’s long history of adherence to international quality standards.

CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body that surveys health and human services providers to ensure that offerings are of the highest quality. To become accredited, organizations must undergo an intensive peer review process, including an on-site visit. Receiving a one-year accreditation signals that an organization conforms to rigorous CARF standards, which further solidifies the provider’s commitment to excellence and the population served. A three-year accreditation is the highest awarded, showing exemplary conformance to CARF standards, which further solidifies the provider’s commitment to excellence and the population served.

Through the CARF survey of Mountainside Ramsey, several themes emerged, notably, the efficacy and convenience of its clinical groups – offered both in-person and virtually – as well as the treatment provider’s blending of traditional clinical programming with holistic therapies. Additional feedback included the respectfulness and diligence shown by staff, who demonstrate Mountainside’s overall “loved one standard of care” by treating clients the same as they would their own loved ones. Its therapists listen without judgment and provide clients with the agency to help shape their personal wellness plans.

The recent three-year CARF accreditation extends to the following programs:

  • Intensive Outpatient Services
  • Outpatient Services

“Being recognized by a leading accrediting body is an incredible achievement that speaks to the genuine compassion and integrity of our staff,” says Mountainside’s Chief Clinical Officer Alexandra Helfer. “At our Ramsey center, as with all of our facilities, we have striven to not only develop the most effective course of treatment for our clients but also to make a positive impact in the community overall by helping to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders.”

Mountainside Ramsey has been honored for exemplary service to individuals struggling with addiction, as well as their families.
