Its hard for me to put into words how much Mountainside means to me, but I will try.
I entered Mountainside the first week of August 2017, and my life has never been the same. I would not be sober if it was not for the connections I made with both patients and staff at Mountainside. It is truly a rare and amazing place and I will be eternally grateful for the rest of my life.
It was at Mountainside where I first learned about the steps, where I learned a healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body. Where I first did meditation, which alone has completely changed my life. I meditated every day there and have every day since I left. I also did yoga every day while at Mountainside, which made my transition to sobriety all the more easy.
My life has improved because of the steps, meditation, and yoga, but the number one reason why my life has improved is because I learned to love myself at Mountainside. My therapist at rehab, Seon, changed my life completely and I would go so far as to say, he is the main reason I continue therapy and continue to learn and grow as a human being.
I would not be sober for two years and six months without Mountainside. I think back to what I learned there every day, and it is with the Alumni department that I stay connected. I know that everyone who works at Mountainside truly cares, and that makes me so happy.
If anything I just want all the employees to know that what you do does not go unnoticed. I will always thank you all for everything you did for me, and everything you continue to do.
I love you all so much, and I love because I am sober, and I am sober because I went to Mountainside.
