I remember my childhood, a time without worries. A time when no matter what I did, my parents were proud. A time when there was no choice between right and wrong. A time of innocence, when I wasn’t bound by expectations. I’m not sure when things changed, but the older I became, the more I noticed the disappointment in those around me. For some reason, I gravitated towards the wrong side. I was no longer “wrong-free,” and my family’s proud moments were further and fewer in between. To those around me, I was abandoning my potential. Deliberately choosing the wrong paths. It breaks my heart to know my loved ones thought I had the choice.
