Lauren Gouveia

Lauren is a Licensed Master of Social Work who holds master’s degrees in Clinical Social Work as well as Women’s and Gender Studies.   She has experience treating co-occurring disorders and autism spectrum disorders and specializes in adolescent interventions. She uses Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and trauma-informed clinical interventions to ensure high-quality care for her clients. Prior to joining Mountainside, Lauren served as a behavior specialist and supervisor in an alternative therapeutic school, helping youth with mental health and cognitive disorders. At Mountainside, she works with clients in outpatient care and facilitates the Intensive Outpatient Program.  At home, Lauren enjoys hanging out with her dogs, hiking with her loved ones, reading, and playing the piano.
