Whether you are new to sobriety and need some support to get through the challenges of early recovery, or you are looking to connect with like-minded individuals who want to lead a substance-free life, we have a group for you. All of our free peer support groups are conducted by Mountainside’s caring treatment professionals and wellness experts who provide a safe space for you to share your accomplishments, setbacks, and recovery goals.
If you are not able to attend an in-person meeting, our virtual support groups for individuals in recovery and folks who have loved ones in recovery are easily accessible from anywhere using the Microsoft Teams application on your smartphone or laptop.
NEW: You can now register for a Mountainside In-Person Support Group Pass, which allows you to conveniently sign in to Support Groups with a pass that is stored in your smartphones “wallet”. Sign up here!
Please note: To maintain the privacy and safety of our community, attending our support groups for educational or research purposes is not permitted. For general research please utilize our drug glossary and blog.
Important Update: In-Person NYC Support Groups
Our in-person Professionals in Recovery (Tuesday evenings) and Facing Recovery (Wednesday evenings) support groups are no longer running. In addition, our in-person LGBTQ+ support group will meet every other Monday instead of weekly, beginning September 8,2025.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us for our in-person support groups. We know these groups have been a meaningful source of connection and support, and understand that these changes may feel difficult. We encourage you to explore our ongoing programs, resources, and sober community events to stay connected and supported.
