Mackenzie Humes
Manager of Nursing
Mackenzie graduated Dean’s list from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mackenzie’s nursing career was initially centered in the Operating Room at Yale New Haven Hospital. With the pandemic emerging, she stepped up to support frontline efforts by tending to COVID-19-positive patients in an intensive care unit repurposed from an operating room due to the surge in patient numbers. It was during this challenging period that Mackenzie’s interest in psychiatry developed, sparked by observing the impact of the pandemic and acute illnesses on mental health and addiction. In her role as Manager of Nursing at Mountainside, she provides leadership to her team of nursing staff, mentoring nurses, designing and implementing procedures in alignment with industry-leading practices, and overseeing daily operations to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient care. Beyond her professional pursuits, Mackenzie enjoys graphic design, spending time with family, and playing the guitar.
