About this Event

Presented by: Gooding Wellness and Mountainside Treatment Center

Objectives:

This workshop will explore beginner techniques in mindfulness meditation and restorative yoga. Using guided meditation, aromatherapy, and restorative support, we will be creating a “toolbox” of different tips and tricks to help bring peace and calm back into your day.

This class welcomes everyone; whether you have a strong meditation or yoga practice, are just starting out, or have felt meditation wasn’t for you, we’d love for you to join us to learn more!

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga is a restful sequence of five to six yoga poses using props to support and stretch the body. This gentle practice works to release tense muscles and ease busy minds as you hold each posture for 5-10 minutes each. Gooding Wellness Restorative Yoga Classes are built with mindfulness and meditation at their center in order to help you find a balance of both mental and physical peace.

Why Restore?

Restorative Yoga can offer a much needed break from our fast paced lives, allowing us to return refreshed and relaxed. This type of restoration encourages better sleep, buffers chronic stress, increases flexibility, and helps to develop self-compassion. While the supported twisting, bending, and folding works to massage the body, the quiet space and guided meditation cultivate the skill of conscious relaxation.

Facilitator:

Lily began practicing yoga in 2014 and earned her RYT200 in 2017 from Yoga Love Project in Huntington, NY. Her restorative classes focus on helping all bodies find comfort and ease while encouraging a practice of self-love and acceptance. She approaches yoga as a shared experience in the betterment of mind and body, self and community. Lily is humbled and excited to be sharing her practice with Gooding Wellness!

Support Groups

It is often said that the opposite of addiction is not sobriety, but connection. Having a strong support system is paramount to your sobriety and recovery journey. At Mountainside, we offer a wide range of in-person and virtual support groups for individuals in recovery and friends and families with loved ones in recovery. These groups are designed to help you stay connected to like-minded individuals regardless of where you are.
