Hello, I am Dr. Randall Dwenger and I am the Chief Medical Officer at Mountainside.
Mountainside prides itself on working to promote health and wellness for our clients 365 days a year. But the terms “health” and “wellness” have taken on new significance during this COVID-19 era. Our team here has been working 24/7 to plan and implement measures that protect the health of clients, staff, and all individuals in our Mountainside family while continuing to provide best in class service for our clients.
At Mountainside, we have been making some dramatic changes to some of our procedures and protocols without losing focus on our core purpose and mission.
We have enhanced our preadmission screen by adding a COVID super screen that will decrease the risk of our community’s exposure to the virus.
Our Detox remains open, fully staffed, and busy, and we have been able to partner with Quest Labs to swab test all clients for the COVID-19 virus prior to transferring to our Residential level of care.
We now employ a single point of entry to our facility, and all persons are temperature checked each day before entering Mountainside.
Although we have curtailed visitors, we have created video rooms so our clients can now visit with their families and loved ones remotely via telehealth.
Our staff working on site have access to and utilize personal protective equipment including gloves and masks to keep themselves, their colleagues, and their clients safe.
All our Outpatient Services, including IOP, group therapy, individual therapy, and psychiatric services as well as our Recovery Coaching program are now provided virtually via telehealth and we continue to offer the full array of medication-assisted treatments.
The situation with COVID is constantly evolving and we will continue to make adjustments as necessary, guided by both science and common sense while maintaining our daily focus on the well-being, safety, and recovery of our clients.
While I mostly want to say how grateful I am to the entire Mountainside team and how proud I am to work alongside you, I also want to thank our clients, their families, our alumni, and our partners and professional colleagues in the addiction field.
Thank you for placing your trust in us.
