Canaan, CT – Mountainside Treatment Center, a nationally acclaimed alcohol and drug rehabilitation network, is expanding their Outpatient Services to include evening and weekend Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) sessions and regular holistic therapies to their existing IOP and OP integrative programming. As part of their commitment to innovation and helping all people in need, Mountainside hopes this greater flexibility will empower individuals in recovery to prioritize treatment alongside their daily routines.

First launched in 2014, Mountainside’s Outpatient Services has grown into six locations across Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey plus a virtual therapy program that includes Massachusetts.

“The addition of evening and weekend [IOP] programming across our locations represents our unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive care and ensuring individuals have access to the support they need when they need it most,” says Courtney Hulse LMFT, Director of Outpatient Services at Mountainside.

According to the CDC, drug overdose deaths in the United States during 2023 decreased by three percent compared to the previous year. The provisional data also reveals that overdose deaths from synthetic opioids (primarily fentanyl) declined in 2023 while cocaine and psychostimulants (like methamphetamine) increased.

The data highlights the ongoing need for accessible and adaptable substance abuse treatment programs. Mountainside’s Outpatient expansion will reach struggling individuals and family members busy with personal responsibilities, work, or school during the weekdays, making it more convenient for them to engage in treatment and build a sober lifestyle grounded in wellness.

In addition to the extended hours, Mountainside is introducing holistic wellness services at each location. Sound bath and yoga sessions will complement the clinical treatment options and provide clients with a comprehensive approach to their recovery journey.

Outpatient clients can expect to receive evidence-based and research-informed treatment for substance use disorders such as fentanyl, opioids, marijuana, kratom, alcohol, and more.

Beyond expanded hours, Mountainside Treatment Center’s commitment to recovery extends to free weekly support groups, family wellness workshops, and educational events. This comprehensive approach, coupled with the new outpatient service hours, empowers individuals and their loved ones on their journeys to healing. Mountainside remains dedicated to building a strong recovery support community, ensuring no one faces addiction alone.
