Fentanyl 101: What You Need to Know
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid used as an anesthetic during surgeries and prescribed for pain relief afterwards. It is sold on the streets as a white powder or in pill form. Often, Fentanyl is added to other drugs such as heroin and cocaine without people knowing.
Fentanyl is 50-100 times more deadly than heroin, morphine, and oxycodone. It has no taste or smell and can be absorbed through the skin. As little as 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be fatal.
