Canaan, CT – Mountainside treatment center is commemorating 22 years in the behavioral health field on February 26th. Led by a team of skilled clinical, medical, and wellness experts, Mountainside’s holistic programming encourages those struggling with substance use to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Within the last year, Mountainside added two new locations in New York State to increase individuals’ access to quality treatment and care. The company proudly opened a new center in opioid-ravaged Suffolk County, where 323 residents lost their lives to opioids in 2018 alone. At the facility in Huntington, NY, those who those are unable to take time away from their professional or personal obligations have the opportunity to receive treatment for their alcoholism or drug addiction while maintaining their daily commitments. Mountainside Huntington features programs such as Outpatient Treatment, Recovery Coaching, Adolescent Services, and Medication-Assisted Treatment.
Last September, Mountainside further expanded its behavioral health platform by opening its first recovery resource center in New York City. Mountainside Chelsea has unique services to educate and empower not only addicted individuals and their families but also the greater NYC community. At its core is Recovery Coaching, which pairs individuals in recovery with a mentor who can help them work through everyday challenges in real time. Understanding the difficulty of navigating triggers to sobriety in a bustling city, Mountainside Chelsea offers a safe haven for community members to meet like-minded individuals, connect, and unwind – sans substances. A comprehensive hub for recovery, Mountainside Chelsea offers informative workshops in addition to opportunities for wellness and fun, with the center featuring a game room and lounge as well as exciting events for clients and the greater sober community.
At all of its locations in New York and Connecticut, Mountainside began offering additional assistance to those seeking to strengthen their mental health by connecting with others. Friends and Family Support Groups are available at each of the treatment center’s facilities for individuals who have been impacted by another’s addiction. More recently, Mountainside started providing First Responder Support Groups at its Wilton, CT and Canaan, CT campuses for firemen, police, and emergency medical personnel – those on the front lines – struggling with trauma and substance abuse.
“By expanding our footprint and breadth of services, we are connecting vulnerable individuals, families, and communities with compassionate care and support,” says Andre Basso, Mountainside’s Chief Operating Officer. “In bringing conversations about addiction into the open, we are deepening our commitment to destigmatizing substance use disorders so more community members can feel safe seeking treatment.”
